Eaves Hall wedding photography, Lancashire

Cheryl and Luke’s winter wedding at Eaves Hall, Lancashire

Eaves Hall is a beautiful country manor house, and is one of my absolute favourite wedding venues.  Not many venues can ensure a perfect wedding day despite the weather, but Eaves Hall does just that.  It is one of those venues that is just as photogenic inside as it is outside, which is very rare. This makes it an excellent choice for both winter and summer weddings regardless of the weather.

Cheryl and Luke had such a top day, but then wedding photography at Eaves hall is always so much fun.  Whenever I photograph a wedding here, the day just flows seamlessly and that’s down to the fantastic staff who always make the couples feel special on their big day, and look after the suppliers too!!

Bridal preparations

The day started with Cheryl and her bridesmaids getting ready at Cheryl’s family home in Longridge. As soon as I got there I knew it was going to be a fun day (well, I already knew) as the girls were in full swing and high spirits. I just left them to it, and made use of the really cool mirrors on the walls for some creative reflections.

St Lawrence’s church wedding ceremony

After the girls were pretty much ready, it was round the corner to meet Luke and the boys at the church.  It was a pleasure to photograph inside this beautiful little church, helped by the vicar, who was happy for me to take as many photo's as I liked - music to my ears. I'm always discreet and respectful during church weddings, but I also like to concentrate on getting great photo's rather than worrying if my camera click is too loud.

Eaves Hall wedding reception

As soon as Cheryl and Luke arrived at Eaves Hall, they went for a nice stroll around the amazing vast grounds and had a bit of time to themselves. This gave me an opportunity to capture them naturally without them feeling like they had to pose, and also - a big thing for me, they didn't feel like they were missing time with their family and friends as they hadn't all arrived yet.

Paul Guard at Eaves Hall

Every wedding should have Paul Guard - full stop!  He’s an absolute legend, true gentleman, and genuinely lovely guy - who I also consider a friend.  More importantly, he is an exceptional wedding singer. During the reception drinks he strolls around casually singing some classic hits in a low-key tone as guests arrive and enjoy champagne and canapés.  During the wedding breakfast, he takes it up a level, and has everyone of all ages singing and dancing in between courses.

As the winter sun goes down the inside of Eaves Hall comes alive with a warm glow and set the scene for the first dance.  Normally this would be held in one of the two magnificent spacious rooms, but Paul suggested they do it in the lobby area - a first for me, but a great idea and it certainly made for top Eaves Hall wedding photography.
