Mitton Hall summer wedding, in the middle of THAT heat wave

I had the best time with Hannah and Richard at their scorching hot wedding last Summer. I always get excited about being a Mitton hall photographer, it has such a great reputation within the industry, the locals, and the couples lucky enough to spend their wedding day there, and rightly so. I have been a wedding photographer at Mitton hall a good number of times, in fact, in 2019 I was here and at Eaves Hall more than any other venue.

It is perfect for photo’s no matter what the weather. in winter it is cosy and intimate with fires warming the old hall and fairy lights and candles lighting the main conservatory, but today it was in the middle of a summer heat wave. The light and airy party room looked absolutely stunning soaked in the sun, which complimented all the table flowers and gave the wedding breakfast a ‘destination’ feel.

Multi award winning unposed photography

Not only did I have an amazing time on the day, but I was lucky enough to pick up a number of prestigious awards from Hannah and Richards wedding. The photo of the girl under the table in church with the statue of Mary above earned me my first Fearless award - the most difficult awards to win with thousands of entries from around the world each round. It was also awarded a Masters of UK Photography and also with WPJA and Photographers keeping it Real. The black and white photo of Richard getting ready (The one that my sister says reminds her of the TV show ‘suits’ ??) also got an award with the WPJA.

I have to say though, one of my favourite shots of the day was of Richard walking back into Mitton hall after leaving his speech in the car!

Exclusive Mitton hall wedding

After a quick stop at Cromwell bridge at the request of the bride and groom it was onto Mitton hall in the heart of the Ribble valley. Today’s wedding was totally exclusive to the bride and groom. It was so good to see all the guests relaxing and laughing at the back of the stunning country house as they took in the breath taking views looking over the River Ribble in such incredible weather. It really was the perfect day.

We had a short stroll around the grounds and were treated some amazing light poking through the trees which made for brilliant portraits. Later in the evening we would return for some gorgeous sunset photo’s - you always get a good sunset there on a nice day here - but for now, it was back to the cool conservatory for one of my favourite parts of any wedding…The speeches!
