Pip and Sam’s big day in Kent

I first met Pip and Sam just over a year ago at Heather and Ben’s wedding in Downham (which you can see here) so I was over the moon when they got in touch with me and asked me to be their wedding photographer. It wasn’t quite as local this time, as the couple live down near London but I love travelling to new places and I wasn’t the only one - as there was people flying from all over the place and a strong showing of friends and family from the north too!

I’ve said it many times and probably on other blogs too, but for me weddings really are all about the people, and groups of family and friends don’t come much more fun than these - so I knew this was going to be a top wedding with loads of laughter, fun moments, and dance floor action and it over delivered on each of those things.

The day was so relaxed and such a laugh (I know I’ve said that already but I really mean it!) the bridesmaids and best man speeches were some of the best I’ve heard in a very long time, and the night time dancing was another level - I nearly got taken out a few times by epic moves, especially when the bestman nailed his version of ‘21 seconds to go’

The Plough at Leigh

Last Saturday was my first visit to the Plough at Leigh, a beautiful independent country pub set in amazing surroundings. The hop hung bar area serves loads of local ales and sits next to a 17th century beamed barn which is the perfect backdrop for natural wedding photography.

After the ceremony the vast gardens to the rear are great to capture guests mingling and laughing while enjoying drinks and canapes and the weeping willow trees that surround are great to get a few relaxed couple portraits before heading back in for a delicious meal, and I might add - the food here is absolutely incredible.

In the evening the barn is turned around for the night time party into what feels like quite a large space, again the beams, hanging hops, and fairy lit ceiling give a warm and cosy look to the party photo’s.
