YOU’RE BOOKED!

Firstly, thank you so much for booking me. I’m really excited to be part of your big day and I’m really looking forward to capturing some amazing photographs for you.

I’ve put together the following information to try to give you as much information as possible about how everything will work, and to keep you as informed as I can in relation to your wedding photography.

WHAT NEXT ?

IN THE RUN UP TO YOUR WEDDING:

  • Think about whether you’d like a pre-wedding shoot with me. This is a great opportunity for you to relax in front of the camera and get some awesome photos of you both before the big day. The shoot only lasts an hour or so, so don’t worry about me eating up your whole day/evening. I normally shoot on weekdays or evenings as I tend to be shooting weddings on a weekend. So, when you’ve thought of some dates, drop me an email or give me a call and I’ll get you booked in.

  • I’ll be in touch in the months leading up to your day to check in and see how all your preparations are going and to see if you have any questions. Don’t be a stranger! If you have any questions at all, no matter how small, please ask away – I’m always here to help.

  • If you’d like any recommendations for other suppliers I have a useful list which I’ve put together at the end of this information pack.

  • Have a think about the timings of your day – I’ve found that the following rough times give plenty of time for your day to flow. The time of year also makes a huge difference. Eg. If you want couple shots in the setting sun then it’s worth planning timings roughly around what time the sun will set so it doesn’t interrupt the speeches or wedding breakfast.

11.00am I arrive for bridal preparations
12.30pm Groom and guest shots arriving at church
1.00pm Ceremony
1.45pm Guests mingling with Bride and Groom and confetti shot
2.30pm Arrival at your venue for Reception drinks/group photographs 4.00pm Bride and Groom portraits
4.30pm Wedding reception
6.30pm Bride and groom evening session
7.00pm Arrival of evening guests
7.30pm Cutting of the cake
8.00pm First dance (I will leave approx 9pm after some dance floor shots)

  • Approximately 3 weeks before your wedding I’ll ask you to fill out a pre-wedding questionaire which will give me all of the information I need to make sure everything runs smoothly on your wedding day, and I will provide you with your final wedding balance invoice which is due10 days before your wedding (unless you have previously arranged a payment plan with me). I will also give you a call in the days leading up to your wedding to go over all your details to make sure nothing has changed.

  • It can be a good idea to advise your family and friends about my style of photography, which is mainly documentary style, although I do try to add in some fun and quirkiness to other aspects of your photography. Parents especially, can sometimes be expecting a more traditional style of photography.

  • Have a think about the group shots you’d like. I normally limit group shots to around 10 variations that take no longer than 25 minutes to complete. I’m more than happy to add more group shots on to this list if its something you’d like, but I do like to warn couples that it can become stressful and time consuming if there are too many. I’ve found that the following group shot combinations work really well.

Group shot list

  1. Bride, Groom + both sets of parents – Bride + Groom with Bride’s parents – Bride + Groom + Siblings

  2. Bride + Groom + Grandparents

  3. Bride + Bridesmaids

  4. Groom + Groomsmen

  5. Bride, Groom, Bridesmaids + Groomsmen

THE BIG DAY!

ON YOUR WEDDING DAY...

I normally arrive for bridal preparations approximately 2 hours before the ceremony, which gives me plenty of time to capture you getting ready along with some detail shots.

I shoot the majority of your day in a documentary ‘story-telling’ way, in order to capture the real emotions of the day, your personalities, your guests in a natural way and the love between you guys. There are some points of the day where I capture more posed images, specifically in your couple portraits and the group shots, but I try my utmost to inject some fun and quirkiness into these photographs, so that it feels more relaxed, less formal and natural.

I will normally be with you for around half and hour after your first dance, normally no later than 9pm.

AFTER YOUR WEDDING DAY...

Whilst you’re away on your honeymoon, I will be busy editing your images.

Within 4-6 weeks of your big day (usually sooner) your highlights will be ready for you to view for the first time on my blog. I will password protect this page until you’ve seen the pictures for the first time yourself and hen I’ll unlock it a few days after.

Then in the next week or so your USB with your full set of edited images will be packaged up and popped into the post within 8 weeks of your wedding, so that you can get busy printing!

If you would like to order an album, you just need to choose the type of album you’d like to go for and the images you’d like to appear in it. (I have an album brochure I can send to you). I’ll then design some proof album layouts for you and email them over to you. It’s no problem to make any changes to these designs. Then as soon as you give the go ahead your album will be sent to print and ready within 8 weeks.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What do we do if we’d like any specific shots?

If you’d like any specific images please advise me of these in the run up to your day. I can’t absolutely guarantee that I’ll be able to capture all images, but I’ll always give it my best shot.

Can our guests take their own photos?

Of course! All I ask is that for your Bride and Groom shots it’s just you guys and myself, as it makes it all much more relaxed.

How will the group shots work?

I’ll work to a pre-arranged list and as quickly as possible. It can be useful if there is an Usher or Groomsmen on hand to gather together the necessary guests for your group photos. I aim to have all of these completed within a maximum of 25 minutes.

What do I do about eating on the day?

I am always more than happy to provide my own food but of course, I would never turn down a delicious meal!

Do you have backup gear?

Yes, I always have multiple camera bodies, a number of lenses, and more memory cards than I need at all weddings.

How many photographs will we see from our wedding?

I will often take 1500+ images at a wedding, but it really is dependant on lots of factors like the number of locations on the day, and the amount of time between ceremony and wedding breakfast. Most full day weddings produce over 750 fantastic images. I only delete images that are duplicates, very poor light images, or where I might have caught you at an unflattering angle.

When will we be able to see our photographs?

I’ll pop a sneak peek of your images on to my blog within 4-6 weeks of your big day. I’ll then send you your full set of images within 6-8 weeks, however in extreme circumstances, such as very busy July/ August months, it could get to 10 weeks.

What if we’d like extra pages in our album?

I design all our albums across 20 pages (40 sides) which from past experience seems to be pretty much perfect. This is generally around 80-90 images. I completely understand though if you’d like a few more images or to spread out your photos a little more, so any extra images are charged at £10 each and extra pages (2 sides) at £40 per spread.

How long will our album take to arrive?

From the date of approving your designs, your album will take approximately 8 weeks to be fully completed. You can either collect your album in person or I can post it to you.

Can we print from our USB?

Most certainly! All I ask is that you only print images for your own personal use, that you don’t use them for any commercial purposes, and that you don’t make any copies (other than a back up copy for yourselves).

Do you have insurance?

Yes. I have public liability and professional indemnity insurances. I can provide copies of these certificates if required.
