Mitton Hall wedding photography

“LOVE THEM! We’ve had laughter, squeals, and tears all before 9am! If that’s just the preview we can’t wait for the rest of them… Amazing…

…Hi Dave, we are absolutely blown away by how amazing our photo’s are. We can’t wait to show our friends and family and to see their reactions too. They brought back so many happy memories and showed us parts of the day that we completely missed!”

MITTON HALL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Along with Eaves Hall, Mitton Hall is the venue I have shot at the most over the past few years. Even after all this time as a Mitton Hall wedding photographer, I still get a fuzzy feeling of excitement every time I pull into the car park. I can only imagine how couples must feel when they choose this gorgeous country house to be the backdrop for celebrating their big day.

In their own words ‘Mitton hall is effortlessly beautiful & unashamedly romantic…A stunning country house hotel in the heart of the Ribble Valley. A breathtaking wedding venue that redefines romance.’ I could not agree more.

As a recommended supplier, you can see a short interview with me for Mitton hall here

“Hi David - We LOVE them! Thanks so much for your work, we knew it would be worth the wait, we were just so excited to see them as we know how good your work is.

Not only are you an amazing photographer, but you were so much fun to have at the wedding.

The surprise slide show this morning made us even happier! We’ll be in touch to get an album but for now just wanted to say a big thanks for the memories your work has given us”

“WOW. These are incredible.

We just wanted to say a massive thank you for last week. We had the most incredible day. You were fantastic, we really appreciate all the hard work you were putting in.”

THE CEREMONY ROOM

Mitton Hall is the perfect venue, blending the charm and character of the old, with the modern finishes and comfort of the new. The beautiful and airy ceremony room is perfect for natural wedding photography with huge windows looking over the River Ribble and sky lights bathing the couple in gorgeous light as they say their vows. It can accommodate 180 guests during the day, up to a whopping 350 in the evening when it turns into the ultimate party room, and it even has it’s own private bar! In winter it is warm and cosy and filled with candles. In summer it can be light, bright and filled with flowers - however you decide to decorate it.

There are 18 stunning boutique bedrooms to rest the feet, and an abundance of nearby accommodation too.

THE GREAT HALL

The most iconic part of Mitton Hall has to be the original oak panelled main hall. I love the contrast between the light ceremony room and here. The space is warm and cosy with large open fires, and a huge chandelier. Despite looking darker than the rest of this spectacular wedding venue, it has windows all around making it great for romantic portraits like the one you can see below if the weather isn’t on your side. On a bright summers day you can get amazing beams of light bursting through from both sides depending on the time of day - I love it here.

GETTING READY AT MITTON HALL

Photographing bride and groom prep at Mitton Hall is a real treat as all the beautifully refurbished rooms compliment the rest of the venue and all have amazing light to work with. If you have chosen to get ready at the venue, more often than not this happens in one or both of two rooms - private dining room 3 or the King suite.

The third private dining room on the first floor is a huge space with oak panelled walls reflecting the look of the main hall. At the far end is a large window over looking the trees at the front. I love taking photographs in here as the light spilling in makes it so easy to get creative without anyone really knowing I’m there.

The King suite is a stunning en-suite room with four poster bed and views of the grounds and River Ribble to the rear. Both rooms are just a short stroll to the ceremony room to tie the knott, meaning I can capture all the moments leading up to the ceremony without having to dash.

THE PERFECT VENUE IN SUMMER AND IN WINTER

Any wedding photographer worth their salt should be able to get the photographs you want whatever the weather, but it’s definitely made easier at a venue like Mitton Hall. In the summer time, or even just a nice day in winter for that matter, after saying ‘I do’ in the conservatory you and your guests can just stroll out on to the terrace area to the rear and spend the afternoon drinking cocktails while looking over the gardens and Ribble Valley views.

But this is England, and the sun doesn’t always shine. Fortunately the main hall is an equally stunning place for you and your guests, and in the winter time is the perfect choice. The fires and candles really ramping up the cosy and festive vibes.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT WEDDINGS AT MITTON HALL

Well if you’ve read the above then I’m pretty sure you will already have a pretty good idea what I think is so great about Mitton Hall. Two things that really stands out though that I haven’t mentioned are the staff and the food. The staff are so much fun, so friendly and helpful. Most importantly they can’t do enough for you to make sure your day is amazing, but they are simply brilliant to all us suppliers too. But you want to know about the food right? Well you can go anytime and check out the quality in the restaurant, but at weddings it’s absolutely up there with the best that I’ve ever sampled and I’ve been to a lot of weddings! (Must be around 500 now)

And after all that food, the grounds are perfect to get relaxed, unposed photographs of you both as you have an evening stroll from the front of the building through the wooded area at the side and to the beautiful garden at the back for a quiet moment at sunset. (Disclaimer - I can’t guarantee a sunset but if there is one then they are always epic here!)

“Hi David, we are well and truly blown away with our photo’s :-) We’ve spent the morning looking through them all and they are just amazing - you captured every moment perfectly! The slideshow you sent reduced me to tears (In the best way)

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for capturing our wedding memories! David and I have both agreed that you truly are such a fantastic photographer and seeing our own photo’s proves it even more.

Thanks again”

OTHER STORIES FROM MITTON HALL

LOVE WHAT YOU SEE?

I’d love to hear from you

AN AMAZING SPACE TO PARTY

I love to photograph a good party. For me this is just as important as the rest of the day and is the time when you can capture the fun of the day as your guests literally let their hair down on the dance floor. As I said earlier, the ceremony room becomes the ultimate party room at night. It has all the space needed to pull shapes while keeping all the atmosphere built through the day. I have photographed New Years Eve weddings here where couples have made the most of my ‘unlimited’ option for me to capture all the moments until the very last tune finishes and being able to capture the last hugs and group songs really feels like you have a complete record of your day.

LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED MITTON HALL PHOTOGRAPHER?
