Nunsmere Hall is one of the finest wedding venues Cheshire has to offer and that’s really saying something given how many amazing places there are to get married. Sitting in the middle of an enchanting 60 acre lake, it’s the perfect place for a dream wedding. I’d previously photographed a huge 600 guest Indian wedding there as one of four photographers that lasted a whole week but wasn’t able to share the photo’s, so I was so excited when Cheryl and Rob asked me to be their Nunsmere Hall wedding photographer.
DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE HEART OF CHESHIRE
After starting the day at Cheryl’s family home with all the girls I made my way to meet the boys at the pub by the church. Everyone was having such a laugh, I knew it was going to be a top day right to the end. We all walked around the corner to the beautiful stone church which stood proud at the top of some steps. The light was perfect both inside and out which makes it that bit easier to get some epic shots. Once Cheryl arrived moments later all laughs and smiles I waited for her ascent to the front door to catch a shot that I’d seen in my head - full length with the veil…It was time to get married.
WEDDING RECEPTION AT NUNSMERE HALL
Coming out of the church under a tunnel of fishing rods and confetti, the car was waiting to take Cheryl and Rob to the beautiful Nunsmere Hall.
Cocktails and canapes were served in the front room of the award winning country house. I loved photographing the reception in this room, the light was SO good, and there were so many moments from the men laughing around the bar to Rob kneeling by his nan for a chat - she looked so proud of him. Moments like this are the most important thing to capture. The atmosphere was really relaxed as guests strolled between the rooms.
STUNNING SCENERY FOR WHEN YOU WANT 10 MINUTES TIME OUT
At Nunsmere Hall you’re really spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful locations to have a few moments time out to yourself while making some relaxed pictures. After a few drinks and plenty of chatting and hugs with their family and friends, Cheryl and Rob took a short stroll through the woods at the front of the hotel to the jetty on the lake. It was the perfect setting to leave them to it for a few minutes away from the party.
At the back of the hall is a large - year round dressed marquee with views over the lake - an amazing space for a party. After the delicious meal and speeches which were held here we quickly hopped outside for a minute as the sun set.
HUGE SPACE TO PARTY
Once the night falls another dance floor area opens up and the marquee transforms into a huge party place. There’s so much room here to bust moves, drink shots and have a top laugh. There was some expert ‘floss’ moves being pulled.
So a huge thanks to Cheryl and Rob for having me capture their wedding at Nunsmere Hall. I love it here I can’t wait to come back!
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT WEDDINGS AT NUNSMERE HALL
Tucked away in the heart of Delamere Forest, Nunsmere Hall feels like a hide away from every day life. It’s an exclusive use venue which I think is so important. On your special day you just want your favourite people around you. Whether you’re having a small, intimate wedding of 10 or an epic all out party of 600, it’s a great choice of venue.
As a photographer I love the walk through the woods to the lakes and the manicured gardens that envelop this charming country house. Whatever the weather you will get amazing photographs of your wedding at Nunsmere Hall. Outside there are vast spaces to catch the rays and chill over the sun set, but there’s also plenty of tree cover if the heavens open. Indoors is perfect too with huge windows lighting gorgeous rooms for photo’s of you both when it’s just too wet to go out.
The other important thing to consider is where your guests are going to stay. Fortunately there are loads of bedrooms and I can also vouch that the food is amazing - that’s what your really came here to find out right? ;-)
